Ingredients
  

Purple Sweet Potatoes
  • 2 pounds purple sweet potatoes peeled and cubed
Butter
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
Milk
  • 1/2 cup milk or plant-based milk
Salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
Nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg optional

Method
 

Prepare Sweet Potatoes
  1. Place the cubed purple sweet potatoes in a pot and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cook until tender, about 20-25 minutes.
Mash and Mix
  1. Drain the sweet potatoes in a colander and return them to the pot. Add melted butter, milk, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Mash until smooth and creamy.
Serve
  1. Transfer the mash to a serving bowl and enjoy warm as a side dish.
