Homemade Peach Cobbler

Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh peaches, sliced peeled and pitted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness of peaches
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch for thickening
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon optional
Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, sugar, lemon juice, cornstarch, and cinnamon. Toss until peaches are well coated.
  3. Pour the peach mixture into a greased 9-inch baking dish.
Make the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Stir in milk and melted butter until just combined.
  3. Pour the batter over the peach mixture in the baking dish. Do not stir.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  2. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
