Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh cherries, pitted or 3 cups frozen
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 pieces pie crusts store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Wash and pit cherries. If using frozen, thaw them completely. In a bowl, combine cherries with sugar, flour, lemon juice, and cinnamon.
  3. Roll out one pie crust and place it into the pie pan.
  4. Pour the cherry mixture into the crust evenly.
  5. Roll out the second crust and cover the filling; seal edges by pinching.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until golden brown and juices bubble through vents. Let cool slightly before serving.
