  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup butter melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup active sourdough starter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, melt the butter. Whisk in the eggs, sourdough starter, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Gradually combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients, folding gently until just mixed.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  6. Allow to cool for at least ten minutes before cutting into squares.
