Ingredients
  

Vegetables
  • 2 medium cucumbers sliced thin
  • 1 medium red onion sliced thin
Vinegar Mixture
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1 teaspoon dill optional

Method
 

Prepare the Vegetables
  1. Slice the cucumbers and red onion thinly and place them in a mixing bowl.
Make the Vinegar Mixture
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the white vinegar, water, sugar, salt, black pepper, and dill until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
Combine and Marinate
  1. Pour the vinegar mixture over the sliced cucumbers and onions. Toss to coat evenly.
  2. Transfer the mixture to a jar or container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld.
