Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz spaghetti or any pasta of choice
Tomato Sauce
  • 2 cups fresh tomatoes chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
Cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan cheese grated

Method
 

Cooking the Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander.
Making the Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
  3. Stir in the chopped basil and mix well.
Combining
  1. Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to reach desired consistency.
  2. Serve hot, topped with grated parmesan cheese.
