Ingredients
  

Brisket
  • 3 pounds beef brisket trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for searing
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
Taco Toppings
  • 8 small corn tortillas warmed
  • 1 cup fresh cilantro chopped
  • 1 cup onion diced
  • 1 cup lime wedges
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup salsa

Method
 

Prepare the Brisket
  1. Season the brisket with smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat and sear the brisket on all sides until browned.
  3. Transfer the brisket to a slow cooker and pour in the beef broth.
Cook the Brisket
  1. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours until the brisket is tender.
  2. Once cooked, shred the brisket with two forks and mix it with the juices in the slow cooker.
Assemble the Tacos
  1. Warm the corn tortillas in a skillet or microwave.
  2. Fill each tortilla with shredded brisket and top with cilantro, onion, sour cream, and salsa.
  3. Serve with lime wedges on the side.
