Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for thickening
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Crisp Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine blackberries, granulated sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the blackberries.
  3. Transfer the blackberry mixture to a greased baking dish.
Make the Crisp Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, and salt until crumbly.
  2. Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the blackberry filling in the baking dish.
Bake
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
