Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz ziti pasta or any tubular pasta
Sauce
  • 4 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
Cheese
  • 2 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese grated
Seasoning
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt to taste
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper to taste
Fresh Herbs
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped, for garnish

Method
 

Prepare the Pasta
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Mix Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta, marinara sauce, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, oregano, basil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
Assemble the Dish
  1. Spread half of the pasta mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle with half of the parmesan cheese. Layer the remaining pasta mixture on top and finish with the remaining mozzarella and parmesan cheese.
Bake
  1. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Serve
  1. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes
